Default ithaca part question

i have an ithaca 1911 all pars matching including proof marks slide and frame from the same stamping "P" proof die. the only thing that has me puzzled to its originality is trying to find out if ithaca ever issued thier 1911's with checkered safeties instead of serrated ones.
