My return came a day early, let's see what follows me home...

1911 in .45 ACP.
3 stores down. first was in the process of selling the only one they had in stock, a 70 series colt. The second store had only a taurus, and an old Ithaca that I would have snatched up but it was out of my range and they weren't willing to talk about out. The third store had no 1911's at all.
The search continues. I started with the smaller pawn shops first, moving on to an actual gun store now.

Oh, if you find a Rock Island 1911, you could get it, plus another ($300-$400) gun for the same price as the Colt.

I saw a nice Kimber Ultra Carry II yesterday for $900 NIB. Would probably go for around $400 and my G36 with night sights but cant spend the money right now. I wont be getting a tax return. There are a bunch of used 1911's from various mfg for $500 or less at the LGS's but I need a light weight.
