How is the reliability on that officer sized rock island?

I had an issue with mine at around 1000 rounds. It wouldn't fully extract the spent case, but it would try to load another round. I would have to lock the slide back, drop the mag to clear the malfunction. I sent it to RIA, they paid for everything, did a realiablity tune up, replaced the recoil spring, and replaced the extractor too.

It shot fine after that, but the slide won't lock back after the mag is empty when shooting. I think it may have something to do with the slide release. Maybe the plunger spring is goofed up. Not to much of a pressing issue to worry me right now.

Seriously thinking about getting one, I'd hate to carry a $1000 Colt when these are available. I'm carrying my full size now

It's waaaay too big, but I'm just over carrying the G19. No matter what I do I always gravitate back to the 1911, just as well to buy one for carry.

For the price they are nice. Heavy, but you don't worry about scratches and such.

Never missed a beat and I have tried all kinds of ammo in it. Steel case, brass case, FMJ, and HPs. $500 out the door and fun to shoot. Carry it every day.
