Kimbers are 100% American made and American sourced. That's enough to keep me from buying a Springer as it is for many Government agencies at the local, state and federal level.

I hear this a lot and to me it matters not one bit. I make my purchases based on the best value for my $$$ - not on where it's made. While Springer does use forgings from Brazil, lot's of folks in Geneso Il are glad that not everyone feels as you do...

I've heard stories of bad pistols coming out of Kimber. I've heard stories of bad lots coming out of Springfield.

Your Dollar, spend it how you see fit.

O.K. I've had the oppertunity to shoot, disassemble, reassemble and inspect inner and outer parts fit of the Kimber, Springfield, Colt, S&W, and Wilson Combat 1911's. I've chosen the Wilson Combat Classic Supergrade 1911 in .45ACP. The Wilson Combat 1911 just seemed the smoothist and best fit of the other brands I was able to get my hands on.

Havn't bought it yet. Most likely after April or May. Taxes due April 15th for me and job I just finished and invoiced today should be paid by end of April. I should be able to cut myself a pretty good "pay check" then and I can buy it.

I looked at the Wilson's and drooled and put a couple on the wish list. Nice looking, very tight and well built.

If I had the $ to drop on one, I would have. Range report will be due after you get it worked in.

The particular model is listed at "starting at $4,475" on the Wilson website. Is that what you're coming up with for a price?

No, the gun shop I went to stocks alot of the Wilson Combat 1911's and the price tag on the Classic Super Grades ranged from $2300.00 to $2900.00. The one I looked at actually is $ 2649.00. They did have some models of Wilson Combat pistols over $4000.00 however. I asked the dealer if the price would go up in a couple of months or so and he said no they'll stay the same price through the end of the year at his shop.

This is a new gun store in the area and it looked like they had in the counter display case every model of Wilson Combat 1911's made. I figure the shop must have made a very large pruchase of these 1911's to offer these prices. Regardless, I'll be there either the end of April or May to lay down my money, fill out the paper work, and wait my 10 days.
