I'm pretty happy with my Dan Wesson and it shot just as well as my buddy's Wilson. I think it has quite a big bang for the buck so I'd probably stick with what I've got.

If money is no object I'd have to say a Nighthawk...but under a budget, I will say with, no hesitation, a Springer SS TRP.

I don't think I'd ever own a $5000 1911--- I though spending $2600 on my Wilson was crazy. I had Terry Tussey build my Para P14 for less than that! If I had to do it all over again I'd had just bought the CQB and called it good.

But I'm with the above poster when he said
I know I wouldn't buy one if one is all I could afford
, because 1911's are more addictive than caffeine! You start off with one the next thing you know you have 5!

I have a Colt series 70 that I sent off to NOVAK for a full custom job, their FBI spec pistol. So far I love it! My life depends upon it on a daily basis, and I have been to a lot of schools with it, with no malfunctions, what so ever. I absolutely LOVE what they did to that gun. I am partial to the little PONY and with NOVAK's great work, that little pony became an awsome work horse, not to mention a unique gun! How can you beat a custom COLT?
