Hmmm. The egg is indeed the perfect shape----to slide out of a chickens butt.

I guess that could make the 1911 the perfect pistol. Not sure for what.

How do you come to that conclusion? What does the shape of the egg have to do with the 1911........though I just might agree......the 1911 just might be the perfect pistol. Though it has nothing to do with the egg at all.

I thought you meant it was perfect because it fit between two slices of toast, or biscuit, English muffin, on top of a stack of pancakes . . . . . . mmm, pancakes.

Considering what one can do with an egg.....
Over-easy, scrambled, drop-egg soup, cooked in a plastic bag, etc....

Now, consider what one can do with a 1911.....

Hunting, target, self-defense, bring to a gunsmith in a plastic bag, etc...

I heard that said in a show "Tails of the gun" and thought it was fitting

IMHO it really is the perfect pistol

But that doesn't look like a 1911.

1911's are very nice no doubt but modern materials and designs really have supplanted them for ease of use and shootability.

ive got 6 1911's two i use as an occasional ccw but the xdm compact is a better owb carry gun. it is faster to shoot on target with followups nothing but a grip safety between you and boom good capacity comfortable recoil in 45acp even better in 9mm. i also carry my m9a1 compact inox more than my 1911 lightweight commander or new agent.

great guns yes but not the perfect gun. i dont think there is such a thing.

if i had to take one to war it would be a close call tween the 1911 and beretta m9a1 due to easy of repair and maintenence. everything i need to keep either running in top shape can be carried in a back pocket.

anyway no such beastie as a perfect gun unless your trying to squeeze one out of a chicken's ass...
