Default I just ordered my first 1911...

I just ordered a Kimber Custom II for $730 shipped. I've heard a lot of good things about Kimber's, this model specifically. This is my first steel gun, I own two XD's and a Glock. I pretty sure it wasn't, but I hope it wasn't a mistake.

I plan on a grip change just to make it fit my big fat hands and then after the honeymoon phase, a Clark 460 kit.

It's a great first 1911. You'll realize why 1911's have a devoted following.

Great! Can't wait for the pics and range report. Please post any rust findings you might encounter.

Great choice for your first 1911, you went with one of the best right out of the gate! Shoot the heck out of it, get to know it, and it will be your best friend.

I've got a couple of series II Kimbers and have had no problem with either one of them. Both are great shooters.
Post up some pics when she arrives!
