I finally found my first 1911
I did finally find and purchase my first 1911. After a lot of reading here, and in other forums, and shooting many versions at the range, I decided on a Colt (70 series MK4) and I could not be happier! This gun was manufactured in 1974 and is in great shape with around 800 rounds through it at purchase. I have put another 400 through it myself and it is flawless. Fed and fired everything I put in it. If not for the faint idiot scratch it would be perfect with great dark glossy blueing. I love the feel and look of the 70 series and fell in love with this gun.
So now I'm working on my second 1911 but this time in 9mm, although I must admit the 45 is sweet to shoot. Post and picture to follow soon.

Nice. Nothing like a Blued Colt.
Careful. 1911s are fertile, next thing you know they have multiplied when you weren't paying attention.
