No kidding, but I used to buy a lot of .380 so .45 isn't much worse. I had originally considered going with something cheaper but I'm glad I decided to save up instead and get this. Next I want to get a nice classic looking Colt. No FSS and blued.

45 ammo is cheaper than 380. The colt is a good idea for the next buy. Colts just feel right, no sharp edges, good balance, and it the standard for all handguns. I think everybody who wants to get into 1911 should have one.

I have a Springfield Armory TRP Operator, and I like it very much.

You'll have a bunch of fun breaking it in. It takes about 250 rounds to get everything mated together.

I like the way Springfield sinks their Bomar style sight down, into the slide.

I was mostly expressing my disdain for the current cost of ammo.

Want a case of 7.62x51 NATO? $450
Need a case of .45 ACP? $300
How about some nice Russian 5.56x45 NATO? $210

A guy needs deep pockets to build a nice ammo fort nowadays!

Iv'e been trying like crazy to buy & find the new Ruger SR1911 pistol & no one has them.? Ruger advertised them last year & only made & sent out enough just to tease us with them, Now when I called them up in their Prescott plant the guy said that it will be about another 3-6 months before any of them will be sent out for public sale's.? boy does that S**k :
