Thanks. I was happy with the way they turned out too. They are going on a black VBOB so I think they are going to look great against an all black gun.

I'm looking to personalize my G.I. with some nice wood grips. They have to be thin & they have to be black without gloss. Anyone know of something fancy? Gator skin? Double diamond?

I guess your idea of fancy and my idea are different. You say they have to be black, but there's not much fancy about black grips to me. Black grips come standard on a variety of guns, so they just seem plain jane to me. You can get black Alumagrips or any garden variety black G10 grips. If you are wanting something from wood, then there is ebony that you can consider.

If you want gator skin, I don't think you'll be able to get something like that in a slim grip. Grips made from skins must be overlaid on something sturdy. In order reach the slim profile thickness with a skin, the backer material would have to be extremely thin, probably too thin to be useful and the grips would probably break.

In that case ultra thin grip panels would do well to hold the skin. I just like black on anything shiny. For added awesomeness a crucifix engraved in the skin would look gorgeous.

Hey Scratch, how about this design, except in ebony? These are Esmerelda's.
