How's your Ambrosia Maple looking? I'm thinking about a pair for my Kimber Tactical Custom II....dark finish. What do you think?

Well, since lonyeager asked, here's a pic of a current set of Ambrosia Maple from the one dark spot on the block. Every other set I've made from it is considerably lighter in color, but this area was dark for some reason. I had it stabilized just in case, but honestly, I don't think it needed it - this stuff is solid as a rock.

Here's what the rest of the block produces

Well aren't we just a bunch of friggin' comedians in this room. Piling on is a penalty, you know. And I don't have a fleck of rust on any of my three Kimbers!
I'll admit, though, that that's a cute little Colt. How long is that barrel, about three inches? Show me a Colt Government model like the big boys .

Compensating over size? It still works fine and makes me happy!
Its not the size of the Colt, its just that you have 1, or 2, or more.
My other Colt is a series 80 M1991 A1 full frame for the 5 inch people in the group!
It doesn't have rust either!

Very nice. What kind of grips are those?
Just jousting with ya, I only have one Colt (Mark IV Series 70) and I love it. Wish I could find and afford more! But I have had none of the rust problems with my Kimbers that the others are talking about (knocking on wood).

I think I've seen that Defender before!
Are you back with a new name?
No problem, I rarely forget a Colt I've met!
OBTW, here's one for $650.... Defender Series 90 Lightweight 45ACP - Auction: 9326180 (Ends 09/17/2009, 12:26:20 PST)
