Ok. I suck at getting rust spots off. This ones small. Please help. Also how do you reblue a 1911? I usually buy my 1911's new so im new to this issue. Ive used the birchwood casey on my rifles but id rather a nice finish.

If you really want a good finish I'd send it out. Hot blue would look best and the equipment to plush and refinish is to much to justify for one pistol. There is an FTF sponsor offering a discount to members.

Sorry, I don't. It will depend on the gunsmith and level of finish you want. If you just want it sandblasted and blued it will be quite a bit less than a hi-polish finish and bluing. Where are you, I might know someone in your area.

Local gunsmith will polish whole gun and hot blue for 125$. Good price?
Check his work, pay close attention to the lettering it should be clear and crisp. Also look over the whole gun to see if the polish is consistant over the whole gun. $125 is a good price if you are happy with his work. Try to look at more than one example.

Depending upon what kind of finish and durability that you want. This depending on the amount of carry and etc. And also the amount that you want to spend on it.
Probably one of the most durable finishes out there is the NP-3 Finish by ROBAR. It looks like a flat stainless or brushed chrome finish. But it contains thousands a small Teflon particles in the finish material. And would last for a long long time even being carried regularly.
The other good finish that I like is the Black T Finish. It is almost black in color and does not reflect light since it is a duller finish.
