Help with finding 1911 magazines.

I want some 9mm 1911 magazines with flush base plates. I wanted to buy some Tripp research mags but saw they have the rubber base plates, which I don't want as this will be on my carry gun.

I just looked to make sure, but you can get them with the alloy base plate also.

Never mind, the alloy is the same thickness as the plastic. Call him, Canebrake says he will make whatever you want.

Call Aaron @ Tripp (877.837.9445) and ask him if they can make a flush fit 9mm mag.

Just talked to him. They have experimented with one but it never turned out well. I still may end up buying some mags for the range though.

Ok, I gotta ask since no one else has: Why is the rubber base plate verboten for carry?

I carry these in a DW CCO:

They fit/work great, which is what matters to me. Well, ok, they have a little protruding rubber foot, it works ok though. Aesthetics are secondary.

Printing issues and potential shirt snag. No real benefit unless shooting competition where you are dropping the mag for reloads.

Printing: Your talking about a full sized frame 1911, right? Yeah, the little rubber foot is your biggest obstacle.
Shirt snag: Maybe. I've not had a problem.
I don't typically dump empty mags all over the ground, but then I'm not an action pistol competitor. However, that extra bit of something makes it easier to seat the mag with authority.
Admittedly, it's all very personal.

Here's my setup, you be the judge:
(FYI, I just tossed the flush fit OEM mag in for the pic)
