Hard to find but wow!
 

I'm no expert when it comes to 1911's. I've owned many from
Les Baer to Springfield Armory. But much to my surprise I tried
an American Classic Tactical II. It is distributed by Eagle Imports,
the same people that bring us Bersa's. This is one fine 1911 from
Argentina. Machined well, tight, good sights, great action and a
good clean, crisp 5lb trigger. Now like I said, I'm no expert, however
at 15 yards this 1911 had a 1/2" tighter group than my Kimber Stainless
Raptor with commercial 230gr. ball ammo. For a pistol at the price
just under 500.00, this thing is a dream.

Check it out guy's, not easy to find, but they are out there.

I don't have the Tactical version, but I do own the Commander version. I was less than impressed with mine as were many others who bought the Commander. There were lots of problems with feed ramps being incorrectly cut, mag catches not being fit correctly, first rounds not feeding and nose-diving into the frame, and piece of crap ACT mags that came with the gun. Mine went to a warranty center before it could even shoot a full mag worth of ammo. I decided not to take any chances and gutted the whole gun and used the frame, slide, and barrel for the platform for a custom build. Here are some before and after shots of my American Classic. While they have potential to be good bargains, I don't think I will be buying another. After a bad experience with Armscor 1911s AND American Classic 1911s, I've given up on the bargain 1911 market.

Thanks. I've since had the barrel hood jeweled and changed the grips out to a blood red amboyna. It sits on my table at gun shows with a little sign that says "Do Not Touch, Not For Sale!" It sure draws people's attention when they're walking by. And tell someone something's not for sale and then they REALLY want it! :D

Does it shoot as good as it looks?
The grips on the rebuild are beautiful, where did you get them.

Shoots just as good. I made the grips in all of the photos.
