Default Happy Happy Happy Rock Island Tacticsl 45

Wow ! I just got my Rock Island Tactical .45 1911 in! Im smoothing the trigger out for lighter pull now. This is a totally awesome well made 45!
It is honestly a good bit tighter than my brand new Range Officer! This fit is awesome !!! Smooth !! Nice polished feed ramp !! Nice finish parkerizing !! Dont like the plastic mainspring housing tho....rough looking outside of barrel but nice throat and bore! Bad bad looking cast link, that gotta go! Cant get hammer stop out! Way tight....ill post more inspections soon
Not complaining at this price...

Still taking it apart, the extractor was tight as heck and they forced the hammer stop in . What a bear that was . Filed the extractor to fit easy now. The ambi safety is also so tight i had to carefully pry it a bit! Hey better tight than sloppy
On to the guts to inspect....

Trigger job done, nice hard sear and nice hammer too. Got my 3 3/4 lbs ! Smooth too. Getting a two PC guide rod, easier to take apart. Polished the saftey so it will come apart easier! Wanted to put in the match trigger from my Range a Officer in.... Does not fit right! Channels are a bit Un square etc, so using the stock trigger for now. Replaced sear spring and firing pin spring. Recoil spring and shock buffer will be Wolff/ Wilson . Need a real mainspring housing not plastic. Maybe a Wilson .
Off to the range soon
A real nice gun for the money it should be awesome.!
New $439. On Gunbroker
My SA Range Officer was $749

All done! I strongly suggest to all getting a steel mainspring housing ! Mine is ordered. I'm putting a new barrel link in too. Trigger got great ! Nice hammer and hard sear to work with . Used all new Wolff springs and it is ready . I'm really thrilled with this awesome 45 , it's well made and almost every bit as nice as my Range Officer.
Now for pics
