Default Happy Birthday 1911!

This can be considered a very special day in the annals of firearms history - the 100 year anniversary of a true legend.

Following its success in trials, the Colt pistol was formally adopted by the Army on March 29, 1911, thus gaining its designation, M1911.

And a pinch to grow an inch!

100 years and still going strong.

Amen!!!! Every handgun lover must have a 1911. When you get one you WILL want another.

No greater design, nor lineage of excellence can compare. The 1911 will forever be the standard by which all others are judged.

Thank God for John Moses Browning!

Happy Birthday to you, you magnificent marvel of wonderous safety, comfort and capable destruction!!

*much love*

Not much to add, except that I'm glad I'm a member of the 1911 sect.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”Samuel Adams
