Default Hammer- Firing Pin Question

Hello Folks,

I just brought a new Kimber home, and I can see that the hammer does not seem to be hitting the firing pin squarely.
It has not been fired yet.
Should I be concernd with this ?

With an unloaded (triple checked) 1911, take an old eraser type pencil (wood shaft). Drop it down the barrel eraser end first. take it outside and dry fire. If the pencil flies out, no problem. If the pencil stays, problem.

Please do this in the safest manner possible.
