it has now been 4 weeks since they have had it. so i called today and kimber said that they would warranty the frame and replace it. i could not get a steel frame for some reason that i didnt ask. they said that it is in the works and they will call when it ships. i am pretty happy with the end result but i cant wait to get her back.

I am glad that they came through for you. I know the waiting sucks, handg in there. You'll have her back soon.

They have had the Alloy frames crack before, this was a worry I had and first traded off my Kimber 4" .45, also it ate recoil springs and they are not easy to replace.

Kimber will get you running like new. Just find something to do in the meantime.

Maybe Kimber's frames are MIM?

That's one heck of a story. kind of makes me think I need a backup handgun now.
My cousin just got your same pro cdp II, probably only 200 rounds through it and my Custom II.
time to go inspect.

Hope it works out.
