The XSE is one of the many that Canebrake recommended to me.

I spent three and a half hours today looking at 1911's and one AR, one of the 1911's being the XSE.

Out of all the ones I looked at, Springfields, Sigs, Paras, Colt's, etc, etc. The Colt's, well there just seemed to be something about them. I don't know what it was. Now the lightweights I didn't much care for, too top heavy I thought. But the other Colt's for some reason, seemed to call to this man.

Find a Ruger SR1911 if you can find one. Best bang for the buck!

When they are loaded, the top heavy feeling isn't there. I like the balance/feel of my Colt CCO & Kimber 4" which have the aluminum frame. It reduces the carry weight by about 10 ozs. I'm not sure how it would affect the full sized light weight.

I've had one for about 3 months. NO problems yet, 2K rounds down the tube. I've got a buckmark 22, and a S&w M&P 9m. The Colt's my favorite. I've shot my best scores with it than even the buckmark.
