Good price for a colt 1911?

I was looking Into trading my glock 30 in for a colt 1911 s80 combat commander with a compensator. Appeared to be in good shape an the dealer is asking $ 780. Thoughts and opinions?

Well, subtract $50 - $100 for the compensator dependin on style
Guess not too bad- I'm NOT a Colt 80 series fan :o

What dont you like about them?

There is nothing wrong with a Series 80 Colt!

Is the compensator a bushing replacement or a thread on style? (I bet its a bushing.)

Compensators on a .45ACP are worthless!

780$ is a lot of cash for what I would guess to be a beat on commander.

A new Comander XSE can be had for <$1K.

Let us know if you find a gold cup at a normal price, not some jacked up retail price. Thank you, Ed
