Turkish 1911? Was surfing Buds the other day and researching low priced 1911s and to my surprise, this Girsan popped up first. Any ideas on quality or any experienced owners?

Low quality. Does not list materials. Slide is not forged. Heavy!

Dunno. The Turks have made some quality guns and some that leave a bit to be desired. They have made good CZ copies, the Cougar that was made on Equipment bought from Beretta, some good shotguns.

It's an ATI import to compete with the PI offerings.

My experience with them is on equal with an entry level 1911.

Its not a Colt, but for those that want to own an inexpensive 1911, they should not ignore these firearms.

Do you want your slide to detonate?.... You can buy a ria or metro arms for the same price. Do yourself the favor and do so.

That explains little. Review I read said it was forged, just not what he called "match grade".
