I bought an Ed Brown Kobra carry with the following:
Original Ed Brown Gun Rug
Shoulder Holster with mag carriers
IWB holster
200 rounds of ammo

Price came to $1850. Never look down to used, but look closely.

The wife found it in the newspaper. And she is not interested in firearms, but thought I should "check it out".

thats great! good job

hey sarge, just realized your in KC. Im only two hours away in Columbia MO. Maybe when i finally decide on a 1911 and get some grips from you ill just swing by and pick them up!

By the way the consider list is now

Les Baer TRS, concept V, or something around that price
Dan Wesson Valor (impossible to decide between SS or black)
STI trojan hard chrome is still in the running

i think the others are just out of the price range as i dont think ill find a 1800 dollar ed brown in my local paper anytime soon

The choice is so difficult, after serverns' shootout Im leaning towards the valor but something about those baers calls to me.

Baers are very nice pistols. Almost a different breed. Almost. VERY tight with tight build tolerances. The only weakness in their equation is the finish. The LB bluing is notoriously fragile and wears quite easily. I had Dave Severns Hard Hat my custom LB Custom Carry Comanche (along with other things) before I ever even saw it. Other than their finish, you'd be hard pressed to find a better built 1911.
Good luck!
Sarge

Thanks for the info Sarge. I think I Going to go with the valor just because of the results of the thunder in the west shootout done by mr severns and I've been talking with him on the phone about it. Also if I go with the valor I can afford to have him Do a little work to it like a gold bead front sight and maybe something else. but there is just something about the bears that I am having a very hard time making up my mind. Iwill let you all know wht I go with. Thanks again for all the helpl
