Slapping is discipline. He could slap his but hard enough that his taste buds go numb.

A dremel and a 1911 together makes a guy like me cringe!

Putting a dermal on a 1911, I'm guessing would feel about the same as having to go out and shoot your own dog, your favorite dog with nothing wrong with him. Take cane's advice, if it's messing up after you've shot it let a pro gun smith or manufacturer fix it.

Going back to replacing the trigger will give you plenty of exercise in tear down and reassembly.

Is that something I could do myself, I've been thinking about putting wilson combat adjustable trigger on my SA loaded?

Yes.

That said your new trigger will likely need some fitting. Fit the trigger to the frame not the frame to the trigger. It should go without saying but I've seen people do the reverse. You can always take metal away but putting it back is a little more difficult. If you screw up it's a lot better to ruin a trigger that can be replaced with a few bucks and a call to Brownells than a frame.

BrassMonkey beat me to it. Yes.
Remember that the "adjustable" part of such triggers adjust the overtravel only, not the pull.
(and should not be used in "series 80" 1911's, those need the overtravel to correctly work the "series 80" mechanism.)

I have NEVER found a positive outcome when the words new-1911 and Dremel are used in a sentence!
Pick me up on the way there, I'll hold him up for you...

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!
