That model was my first 1911 & not my last. To date, it's my only Kimber, but I have a couple more on my wish list. I don't want to spoil your fun of shootin' it, but shouldn't take 1000 rounds.

I think Kimber asks that you run about 500 rounds ball ammo before contacting them about feeding issues.
The only problem I had with mine was that it seemed a little sluggish about going all the way into battery. Just a nudge to the back of the slide & it'd fully chamber. A range officer introduced me to running a 1911 'wet' when new & that solved the problem for the 1st couple hundred rounds. After that, just clean & lube normally.
