DefaultFinally joined the 1911 club.

Purchased a Kimber Pro Crimson Carry today I knew after shooting my dads I had to get one. Grabbed 250 rounds of Federal FMJ to start the break in process. I know these things have a way of multiplying and I actually had to stop myself from buying a second one today while at a different gun shop looking for some Wilson Combat mags. I plan on going to the range this weekend I know you need to run at least 1k rounds to get these things loosened up.

There is a disease called "1911itis" and it looks like both of you have been bit.

Nice looking pieces. Keep them by themselves in the safe. I once paired a couple up and somehow ended up with too many 1911's to feed.

That model was my first 1911 & not my last. To date, it's my only Kimber, but I have a couple more on my wish list. I don't want to spoil your fun of shootin' it, but shouldn't take 1000 rounds. I think Kimber asks that you run about 500 rounds ball ammo before contacting them about feeding issues.

The only problem I had with mine was that it seemed a little sluggish about going all the way into battery. Just a nudge to the back of the slide & it'd fully chamber. A range officer introduced me to running a 1911 'wet' when new & that solved the problem for the 1st couple hundred rounds. After that, just clean & lube normally.

Nice looking gun. It looks very much like my Colt Combat Elite. Have fun.
