Default Double Eagle

What does the alpha characters preceding the numbers of the serial number mean - if anything. On my MKll 90 series those characters are - DFO - (Delta, Frank Oscar - not Delta, Frank, zero).

Thanks

Welsome to the forum!
Here is a sight that give some info on serial numbers:
http://www.datrondynamics.com/Firearm_Gun_Serialization_Serial_Numbers.htm

Different manufacturers use different methods, but these are standard.
The alpha characters could desiginate the model number (Even your initials as part of the serial number would desiginate the "model" number).
