Detonics 1911 Problem

I have a friend that has a Detonics Combat Master 1911. He is having feeding problems with it. He also has three magazines and it does the same thing with all three of the magazines that he got with the pistol. So theoretically ruling out the magazine issue as being the problem. He also has tried many different types of ammunition including traditional hardball. The problem is failure to feed very frequently and of course jamming. Just wondered if anyone here has experienced the same problem with a Detonics pistols. And if so what did you do to resolve the problem?

Try loading one less round than capacity of mag-
6 in a 7rd
7 in a 8rd

Hossfly,

Thanks for the tip. But the jams are occurring throughout the magazine and weapon cycle. Not necessarily at the beginning loading of the first round.

Sniper, it would help us if you could provide details of how the round is, how you put it, jamming.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

Ask him when was the last time he cleaned the mags, thoroughly. (FTF)

When was the last time he changed the recoil spring? (FTE/stovepiping)

+1 on the recoil spring.

Are the magazines from the same manufacturer?

When was the last time he thoroughly cleaned the ejector? Grunge under the ejector can case stove pipes and challenge the next round to feed by mis-ejecting the preceding round.

Is the tip of the ejector broke, is the extractor to tight?
