Gotta watch out for fusion from everything I've heard. Bob Serva is the owner and turns out a great product but there has been more than one complaint about the gun you order isn't exactly what you get. A friend of mine just got a 10mm commander from him and loves it. Nice gun. Just be sure whatever you order is documented and you should be good to go.

I've used some of Fusion Firearms parts. Haven't had any problems so far.

I have two Dan Wesson 1911s and they are top quality. No complaints from me at all.
Their older guns were a huge bang for your buck in terms of what you get for the money. That has since gone out the window with the much more expensive Valor series. Still a good gun, but price is in the same range as Les Baer and that's stiff competition.

Does anyone know the difference from the 2010 V-Bob and todays current production other than a $300-$400 price difference?

But I think the Valor is comparable if not better than the Baer. I like Baer, but when my local shop had a V-Bob and Baer next to each other on the shelf, I picked up both and the V-Bob felt like part of me, the Baer was nice, but the V-Bob now resides with me.

Excellent examples of personal preference. Far too often fans of a particular platform, or manufacturer tend to think that their opinions of certain firearms translate into fact.... for everyone.... not likely. Baer makes a fine 1911. So does Dan Wesson. I own Dan Wesson VBOBs... Baer still makes a fine 1911, but my hands prefer the VBOBs, and I pay much more attention to my hands than I do anyone else's.

Thanks for the comments. I am a proud new owner of the black duty VBOB. Its my first 1911 and I can't imagine what a better shooting, better feeling pistol would be like. Thanks for all the insight.

I'm softening to the bobbed Commander and I think the DW V-BOB is one of the reasons.
