Went to my local GS this morning and put down a deposit on my soon-to-be new pistol. A High Standard Crusader Compact 1911. As soon as Lipseys gets them in stock i'll have one the next day.

I've got very little 1911 experience, under a year, but I agree with NGIB: shoot it a lot before tinkering with it.
