I have not...but I'm drooling. That is a cool handgun if I've ever seen one. I would love to get my hands on one of those just to see what it was like.

If you love the 1911 you more than likely will hate this gun.

Why? Take a look at this;

The grip and mag void are extended to accommodate the longer .357 Mag.

I had a hard time getting my trigger finger to the trigger! Not a fun gun to shoot.

Feed issues inherent with using a rimmed cartridge in an autoloader magazine (geometry stacking), headspacing differences not to mention extractor operation.

There's an app for this, it's called the 460 Rowland. It works extremely well in a standard 1911 frame, really well!

NO feed problems, and my finger reaches the trigger just fine.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

They've been around for a while. They were popular in the 80s and 90s but lost some steam. They have a small following still.

To me, the 10mm is a much better caliber in a true 1911 platform. So in that regard, the cons of the Coonan outweigh any pros. Especially when you can do the same thing with a 10mm.

i remember the coonan coming out and it made big headway for a short bit until a short bit later imi release a working auto with rimmed cartridges in the desert eagle 357.

the early ones had trouble with galling on the frame and slide as coonan used same grade stainless in both slide and frame so it had severe issues with locking up and cycling.

the current production dont have those issues

still a cool gun.
