That just seems like Poetic Justice that two mods of the Greatest Firearms Forum on the Internetz have a couple of the Greatest 1911's in their arsenal.

Heh heh heh

Default From the Browning Owners Manual

Hammer in the dropped position whether there is a round in the chamber or not In bold print DO NOT CARRY A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER. Now to me no round in the chamber is about as good as carrying an expensive rock. No where does it say carry cocked and locked!

Matt, you're soooo easy to spin-up!

Don't be so defensive. We all love you.

Don't you believe it. Matt is an Obama loving pacifist. He sold his 1911 to buy stationery for his PETA newsletter and emo poetry.

Thread lock coming in 4...3...2...

Just messing with ya, man. This thread was turning into a big love fest and was making my homophobia act up.

I don't know what you're reading, but cocked & locked was the way the 1911 was designed to be carried in the 1st place. TRUE 1911 fans know this.

Try cocking a 1911 with one hand. Now imagine doing it under duress. It ain't a SAA. Cocked and locked is the only way to go. Browning is just covering their butts.

why? people never cease to amaze me with their silliness. condition 1, condition 1, condition 1....

-if you dont like it or it scares you, you should just buy something else that makes you feel more comfortable. as with any weapon you carry learning the rules of it should be priority ONE. BHPs and 1911s were designed to be carried in condition 1 from the ground up... and may i stress that they were designed that way specifically and before the implimentation of fancy lawyers and ass-covering corporate instruction manuals .

I carry condition 1, however, I used to carry with empty chamber and loaded mag.
