Condition 1

Recently it came to my attention that some people (unlike me and everyone I know), don't carry their 1911s in the method originally designated by the 1911 design, condition 1. I'm wondering how many people carry other than cocked & locked? And please explain reason if so.

If you don't...get a different gun:D

If you own a 1911, then you should be well versed in the safety features behind the wonderful machine and WHY Condition 1 is the ONLY way to carry it...

can't find a good reason why to carry it any other way?

J.M.B. designed it to be carried cocked and locked. The end. ;)

If you do not have confidence in the weapon when carried in condition 1, you should carry a different gun. If you do not have the confidence in your level of training and experience to carry a pistol in condition 1, you should get a BUNCH more training.

Without a round in the tube, it's just a neat looking hammer.

I would like to throw in 'ON THE beach"

Condition 1 is the way to go.

Carrying it any other way is not advised. Like a famous country comedian would say:

"It's like wiping before you poop. It just don't make any sense."
