Concealable 1911 Options
I used to own an Auto Ordinance GI(reproduction) 5" 1911A1 got rid of it this was one of the worst ideas I ever had.
I remember reading about Para Ordinance having a P-12 .45 ACP but it looks like this product as well as the Colt Combat Commander are history as far as new production 4 1/4 " guns goes.
Any ideas?

Most manufacturers produce Commander size pistols. Depending on the manufacturer, they may make 4.25" or 4" model.

I have a couple I use:
a CZ-Dan Wesson, C-BOB in 10mm, and an Ed Brown Kobra Carry in .45.
Sorry, no trades.

I carry a Rem R1 with a 5" barrel about 50% of the time. It may be a little heavy but it would be good to have in a dangerous situation.

This will be my carry 1911 after we move to the country, assuming the Sheriff issues me a CCW. At least that's what I bought it for.
I have 500 rounds through it and so far, it's a peach.
Stainless Kimber Pro Carry II (Stainless slide and an alloy frame, 4" barrel)

I've carried a Commander-length 1911 for many, many years. For the last 12 years, I've carried a Kimber ProCDP. It rotates with a Kimber SLE. Both of 'em are pre-series II guns. I feel like a high quality belt and holster are virtually requirements for successfully carrying a 1911.
