There is no question, but then that's like my opinion man!

Colt/Talo 21st century Wiley Clapp Commander.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!

And it can be improved upon;

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Dont just go to a gun show and hold one, go buy it and shoot it. Ill make a bold statement here, if you dont love the 1911 sig ill buy it from you. Ive been needing an excuse to buy one

I've been told earlier in this thread that sig doesn't have it together on their commander framed guns. Are is there anything difference in the government and commander framed sig guns? Anything that would make a quality difference?

3) Kimber. Good looking guns of "normally" decent quality. However, they have gained a reputation for hit or miss quality control on occasion. Couple that with a reputation for spotty customer service & a 1 year warranty and you will occasionally see the odd Kimber hate rant. Happy Kimber owners tend to be a vocal group. But, then so are the unhappy ones. FWIW, those people I know that own them, are happy.
But in Sig's defense Kimber produced this!

It's a little out there too!

Don't know who would have given you that idea. I've not heard anything negative regarding Sig's commander lineup. In fact, the gun my FIL has is a commander and it hasn't seen a problem yet.

C'mon now Cane! Sure it does. Two ways to make it better, one way is losing "my little pony" and all the other stuff on the slide and replace it with an elegant "Classic" and the other way is to drop the .45 and make it a 10mm!

Maybe something like this...

Don't know why I didn't think of Dan Wesson in that range. Sigs are the guns God would choose , but the DW 1911s are, in my mind, about as good as it gets. And if you can get one in 10mm then you are, in my opinion, a king among men. Great firearms there for sure!
