Exactly- Don't bother with book value anymore- Best comparasion i've found is auctions - see what a certain gun is worth to the general public. Research Research Research! My local dealer looks in his book when he's tradin with me ---I like that

I have the .380 Government Model Series 80 Blue finish mfg. In 1996. The government model came in blue, nickel, and colt guard(1983-1997)and in stainless steel (1989-1997). The Gov. Pocket lite was mfg between 1991 and 1997. The latest edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values lists the stainless steel Government model between $400(60%) and $825( 98% condition). I have seen the Mustang sell in the $300-$375 range but never the Government model series 80.
