Default Colt M1991- .45 government model

Hello all

I came across a brand new Colt model 80 m1991 (blued government model) today.

Colts, regardless of the model, are historically hard to come by at LGS in my area (I live in Southern California).

I wanted to know the forums opinion on this model. Thought it seems like this is a basic model, is this model worth the $925 price tag.

I've been searching for a a 1911 for some time. I initially wanted a kimber stainless tle, however, haven't had much luck locating that model either.

I'm not much of an expert in 1911's, however, I did shoot the colt government model a while back and was surprised on how nice it handles and feels.

I'm looking for something to use mostly at the range. Any thoughts or suggestions is appreciated.

Best,

Ara

I have a Colt 1991A1 I picked up a couple of months ago, I love mine. Went to pick up a RIA, and came home with the Colt. Mine came with Wilson Combat night sights, hogue grips, beaver tail grip safety, skeletonized hammer and trigger. It was slightly used, but only paid $775 for it. Very accurate shooter, very smooth. Probably my favorite handgun.

That's about the going price for one of these, but you're getting what you're paying for. Colts are the benchmark for all other 1911s.
