I inherited a Colt 45 barrel & clip only. It shows pat. dates through 1913. Should I try to find the rest of the gun or try to sell the barrel? Any suggestions?

Do you think it is realistic to think that you will find the rest of this gun? Somehow magically locate it? The barrel by itself has minimal value, and I doubt very seriously if you will find the original without a serial #. The magazine, however, may bring a few dollars to a collector.
