what load are you using?? at what distance?? what sight picture are you using?? have you let someone else shoot it to confirm your not doing something wrong??

colt general sets sights to hit poa at 15yards with 230grain fmj at 850fps.

colt regulates sights with sight picture 2

before messing with the sights have severa people shoot it using 230grain fmj

thats the issue im betting. try some 230grain fmj at 850fps.

if you want to shoot a variety of loads your going to need an adjustable rear sight

try using some 230 gr FMJ ammo and see how it does first.

what is the intended purpose of the pistol and what type of sights does it have now?

they make lots and lots of sights for the 1911's. might be time to change the sights to something more suited to your needs.

Mainly at the Range 50 ft max distance so basically some good target shooting will have to look into having sights put on cause I shoot different ammo as well as what I reload Appreciate the comeback

I don't like adjustable sights on a semi-auto. I will normally keep 1 type of ammo for 1 gun, regulate the sights, and keep it that way.

But, if you want adjustables, then go for it.
