Is there a recommended cleaning guide on here for the 1911? Something with how to's, products to use, pics, videos, etc? Some guide on how to clean and lub after a session at the range?

Also, if there are some minor scratches on a parkerized frame and slide, what is the best way to polish them out and clean up the outside appearance of the firearm?

Oh it's a Auto Ordinance 1911A1 5" barrel with a standard parkerized finish.

The light scratches are just character to be cherished.

Cleaning is pretty basic really but I don't know of a link to a cleaning guide. I can tell you what I do.

After every range session I field strip and clean. After 1000 rounds (sometimes just for fun) I detail strip and clean everything extra good.
