Citadel 1911 ammo
My father-in-law just got a citadel 1911 and we want to get him some ammo for his birthday.. What number of grain can you shoot out of it?

The weight of the round is probably not as important as it being FMJ (round nose) ammo during break-in. The Winchester White Box 185 grain is a flat nosed bullet & it would hang up on the feed ramp of my Rock Island, same as hollow points would. That doesn't mean it'd not cycle in the Citadel, but best to start it off with round nose ammo. The 230 grain ammo seems to be the most common & I like the Remington UMC that Walmart handles & Winchester's White Box 230 grain is a round nosed bullet also.

I have a Citadel. I use it for IDPA competition. Mine will shoot FMJ, JHP, And lead round nose. It has shot everything I have ever put in it. I have shot from 165 grain lead up to 255 grain lead.

I've **** all kinds of different stuff thriugh mu citadel with no issues. I do my own reloading and have noticed i need to pay close attention to my OAL's but its no big issue.

Yep the WWB's are always good, i like the federals but latley all i can find is the small primers which is no big deal just have to make sure i seperate everything.
