Okay, I feel I have to weigh in here. Being one of the only forum members who is both a 1911 snob and NOT a fan of Colt, obviously Cane can't be trusted.
I own a Nighthawk or two.

And I have shot just about everything under the sun in the 1911 market that has a name (S&W Performance, Les Baer, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown and the most ridiculous being a Dave Lauck custom 6" that was over $4500 an a custom request build).
$5,000 for a SINGLE 1911 is more than I would spend. Personally. And I am known to spend more than needed on something I REALLY want for "End of Days".
When we get into $7,000 for a single firearm - we are talking about more than I have EVER spent on a custom rifle build, including optics and 100 rounds of turned, custom brass, reloads.
I don't know WHAT this guy is doing to the weapons in question, but just because it has a Colt name and this guy is behind it, in my opinion,
DOES NOT make it worth $6G's or $7G's a damn piece.
If Nighthawk advertised a $5,000 model, it would have to come with more extras than I have ever seen to even make me
CONSIDER a deposit and it had BETTER be limited to less than 100.
Just sayin'
And Dog's a little girl because his 1911 came out of a K-Mart $0.25 candy machine, is molded plastic, and in a 1:128 scale.
