Default Cheap 1911

No I'm not a huge fan of Taurus but I couldn't pass this one up. I traded the XD9 SC I picked up a few weeks back even up for this one. I had $380 in the XD so it means that's what I have in this one. It's finished in Brownell's Gunkote in a nice steel gray and has a new fiber-optic front sight. Came with a leather IWB holster and 3 decent (Kimber) mags. Never had a painted gun before so it'll be interesting to see how the finish holds up. Probably use this one for trade bait as I really don't need another 1911...

You know, I've never seen a gun safe with a revolving door. Congrats on another trade well done.

I think many would be really surprised just how well those PT1911's work.
Congrats on a good trade.

It's nice looking. I'd like to know how well it works. Range report any time soon?

My Taurus PT1911 is superior to my Springfield Mil-Spec by leaps and bounds.
Feels better, looks better, shoots better, more accurate and loads of options. It's surprising how nice it is. It surprises me everytime I pick it up. Excellent trade.

My Mil-Spec is awesome too. I don't like XDs at all.

LOL! Thank you very very much. I've been a little over excited about my 22 makeover.

Mine wont out shoot my Springer but in all fairness I did a bit of work to it. I don't like the safety on the PT1911's as they sometimes seem to work loose somehow. Being I have yey to ever own a 1911 that I didn't change something I don't see it as that big a deal. I didn't change the one on the Blued one though and it has been fine. My stainless one it worked loose once and it got gone that day. For the money I have in either of them(500 Blued 525 stainless) I can't complain at all. They have turned a few heads with the groups they shoot.

I'm still a rabid Springfield (1911) fan but would say that the Taurus PT1911 is well worth the money going into them. The slide to frame fit alone is enough to make it worth the money...To me anyway.
