Or in my case, overvalue them.

I am glad that you like it. There were a few problems with that gun but I was able to correct them for you

I spoke with Brad at CCR Refinishing this morning and found out all the work he had to do to get the pistol right. Not finishing stuff right, gunsmithing work. I guess my guy wasn't the master gunsmith I was told he was.

Thanks again Brad for all your hard work and for Mary's wonderful manner and patience.

Default CCO is back

I mentioned in a post above that I had a Colt CCO at CCR being refinished. Right after I put that post up I received the gun from CCR. Here's the story and some pics of this "project gun"
I found this CCO on GunBroker. It think that it was being sold by someone who was liquidating a family members estate. At any rate, the gun was improperly listed as an Colt Officers Model. I was the only one to bid on this gun and I got it for the opening bid. It had been carried and had some wear but it functioned perfectly.

I added an Ed Brown Tactical ambi safety, a S&A steel flat MSH, an fusion aluminum combat trigger, a set of Trijicon Combat Night Sights, a set of Matt Davidson's Black G-10 Double Diamond grips and a set of VZ's Slex Screws. Shipped the gun to CCR and ran into a bunch of problems with the sights. Replacement sights for the old CCO's are tough to find and always a special order. The first set that I got weren't right, so Brad and Mary had to get that straightened out for me. They did. The second set looks perfect. It seemed like a long time, but the gun arrived last Tuesday. I think that it was worth the wait.
The gun is EXACTLY what I wanted, and both Brad and Mary at CCR went the extra mile on a couple of occassions to make sure that the gun got to me the way I wanted it. I've got another Colt on the way to CCR-going to go for the Combat Elite look on this one.
Anyway, here's a couple of pictures of my CCO.
