Default Cases dent after ejected

My springfield 1911 45 auto dents the mouth of the case during ejection. Not every one but most of them

The cases are hitting the frame on the way out. That is one reason people lower and flare ejection ports.

Welcome to the forum. We have an "introductions" area where you can say "Hi".

Approx how many rounds do you have through the gun?
Has this done it since it was new?
Are you running reloads? Or factory?

The first thing (if you have approx 5,000 rounds through it) would be to replace recoil spring.
Then, the tension of the extractor could be a little off.
If using reloads, are they on the hot side?

Can you post a pic of a casing showing the mouth and head stamp?

My money is on your extractor needing a tune-up.

Take a look at your extractor.
(Did you at any time drop a round in the barrel and allow the slide to go forward? That forces the extractor over the casing rim and then extractor loses tune.)
