Default Buddy wants to sell his Colt

I know, it's blasphemy. He recently acquired a Ruger SR1911 (which is a beast) & now he wants to sell his parkerized Colt series 80 to get an AR. It's got a couple cosmetic scratches on the slide but it's not bad. The grips are the Colt name brand rubber wraparound type. Based on this vague discription, how much do you think he should ask for it? Sorry, no pictures as of yet.

A gun shop would probably buy it for around $500, I'm interested to hear what others will say.

Your friend will not get very much selling to a shop. Sell locally and he may be able to get in the 750 range. Again without pictures it's a hard call.

I bought that same pistol at a LGS for $500. Had a little wear on the slide from being holstered it appeared, but barrel was perfect.
