For one that's going to get a bunch of holster wear and bump against things, I'd hunt down a Colt or Springfield in stainless and put some knock around grips on it. If you could hunt down a used one, even better.

Liberals are constantly telling us about the poor and oppressed in this country. With that in mind, why do they feel the need to keep importing poor people from other countries?

I haven't found any regulations for Oklahoma as to what I could or couldn't carry. I planned on buying used, not new. Prefer 45 or 40. I am left handed so an ambi safety would be a plus. I was thinking about carrying an XD or Sig 226/229 but theres just something about a 1911.. I've heard Sig 229s are awesome so they're still an option just basically wanted to get peoples opinions on the 1911s. Theres a "custom" 1911 with the Colt Double Eagle slide and I've heard they suck. Hearing theres a big name thats not great is scares me to blindedly pick something.

This is being sold locally, feedback? Dan Wesson V-Bob

The V-BOB would be a good choice.

Please tell me where I can get one for under $1000. I've got a C-BOB in 10mm, and the V-BOB would make a good companion.

The V-Bob makes me drool, but I would be suspect if the price were under a grand.

BTW, I call BS on this:

I would highly doubt that you'll be able to talk someone down on a Valor to $1000. Every one I've ever seen sells for asking price.

I'm not the only one who drools over a Dan Wesson. Since it costs about $300 to bob a normal commander, there is definitely a premium for bobbed commanders. There are only a few factory models that come bobbed and only 3 that are under $1500 (Smith SW1911Sc, Kimber Super Carry II Pro, Dan Wesson V-Bob). I wouldn't bet that you could talk him down.

Are you thinking a carry 1911 or a range/HD 1911? Each size class has its own set of pros and cons. Now that you have decided on a) 45acp and b) 1911, you should really choose 5"/4"/3" and only then begin to pare down your choices.
