Best 1911's for under 1000.00?
I am getting my armed security license on the 13ths of this month and will have about a grand max to buy a new carry pistol. Want to go 1911, but don't know the best options for the cash. Any one want to suggest some make/models to look into?

Should be able to get a Colt model 1991, Kimber Custom II or Springfield Loaded for just under $1K. For the money, I guess the Springfield may have better stock sights on it.

Sorry, kind of broad range here.
Are you looking for a full sized? A 4.25" barrel? A lightweight, carry piece? Are you left handed or have need for an ambi safety? Do you want/need adjustable or night sights?
I'd love to help, but there are a ton of application questions.
For $1000 you can get a Taurus and spend a little money to dump a couple of parts that I replaced on mine (hammer and ambi safety).
Rock Island Armory makes a good entry level gun and you would have plenty of money left over for a trigger job, a nice holster and a good carry belt.
Have you consider used or consignment? There are a lot of deals on consignment pistols now if you have the cash.

Dillinger is right. need to be more specific with what yoy need or want to be able to give more indepth suggestions.
that's the nice thing about the 1911 platform, lot's of choices, barrel lengths, frame size, frame and slide material, sights, triggers, hammers, ect., ect.,.... the 1911 is probably the most customized pistol platform there is.

for 750.00 anywhere in the USA you can get a Kimber Custom II.
THEE work horse 1911 if there ever was one. Hand fitted everything. Everything important is made from bar stock. MiM parts easily replaced but I see no reason.
You will thank me for what could be the best advice you will ever get concerning guns in your life!

I would check your state and local laws before purchasing.
I believe that armed security guards (in Florida) need the "G" license and are limited on what caliber they are allowed to carry.
