Default Best 1911 ammo

I know not every gun enjoys the same ammo. With that said I was wondering what recommendations there might be for my 1911 (specifically hunting rounds)

Make of 1911?
What do you intend to hunt?

The only 357 magnum to me is the Ruger Security Six!!

Like the other guys said, not enough detail to be specific. Winchester, Remington, Federal, Hornady, CCI/Speer, Corbon, and etc make many defense loads and hunting rounds in .45 ACP. What are you hunting, how long of a barrel, what distance are shooting, what is the rate of twist on your 1911, cause my 1911 have shot everything from 165 grain hollow points to 230 ball.

my series 70 colt eats everything i find 230grn fmj to work awesome on rabbits and yotes. anything bigger like a deer... not a good round at all.

there really arent any good deer rounds for the 45acp.

now the 460 rowland conversion for 1911s thats a WHOLE other ball of bat turds ( i dont like the "wax" portion of that saying)

IMO 230 would be moving to slow unless your right on top of it ie a deer unless your using +p ammo and then u have to consider if your 1911 can rock that style of ammo I'm no expert just my opinion is all

The only chambering available in that platform worthy of hunting is 10mm.

But you'd better check minimum caliber requirements in your state.
I could make a list of a bunch of guns i have, or "have", or wish I had. Why would one feel compelled to provide that infornation freely? Do you feel the need to show off? Is it some immature game of oneupsmanship?

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?
