I think he was talking about the original one not canebrakes, because if you look at the original pics (the ones this thread is about) it does look kinda like some one used steel wool or sandpaper on it.

You could have been a little clearer on that but that pistol as i said above more than likely saw combat as well. Combat is hell on weapons. My a4 was brand new when i got it but when i got out of iraq after 6 MONTHS the upper and the lower was scoured silver.
