Default Barrel Links

Recently I saw an ad for "oversized" barrel links for the 1911, claiming that a longer length would improve accuracy thru a "better, stronger" link-up with the barrel and slide. Any truth to such a claim? Has anyone actually tried this?

Well, let's see..... At the moment of firing, what connects the barrel and slide? At the front end, the barrel bushing. At the rear, the barrel is locked to the slide by the matching grooves on top of the barrel, and underside of the slide. Purpose of the link is to pull DOWN the rear end of barrel after recoil starts. Unless I totally misunderstand the cycle of a 1911A1, I just don't see it.

At the time of posting I couldn't remember who was saying/advertising this, but since found them. It's Cylinder and Slide, work item #45061. Unfortunately, they say nothing about "how".
