I came up in an era when the 1911 wasn't as popular. Most people preferred large caliber revolvers. The 1911 was considered a target pistol by most people I knew. The 45 acp is far to lame to be a hunting cartridge and the 1911 didn't work with my bell bottom jeans and T shirt.

i got my first one at about 24 or 25. been at it ever since then for almost 30 years now.

if i were to guess, i would probably have said the average 1911 owners age would have been on the older side of the age range, but after seeing many younger shooters either getting 1911's or wanting to get a 1911 to add to their collections, i think the age of the 1911 owner is probably pretty much varied.

WOW!

Where did the years go! Shot my first 45 1911 in the Army at 22 now 45 years later own five 45 ACPs and 2 1911s. So it would be almost impossible to come up with an average age of 1911 owners.

30s, no 1911. A few reasons for it, but great platform, best even, arguably.
